Mjolk
Unflinching design pragmatism coupled with high fabrics
and artisan craftsmanship, Mjolk, created in 2004 by Denmark
Designskole (DKDS) graduate Lars Stoten and St. Martins
graduate John Clarke, pours new life into the male costume.
Focussing on clean aesthetics that are derived from classic
men's tailoringand then fused together with colour and
fabrication gives Mjolk a sweet ironic continuity, a reconciliation
of opposites. Masculine & feminine, ugly & beautiful,
sculptured tailoring and rebel delinquency. This natural
ethos guides Mjolk's ready-to-wear collections along a
fine line between classical elegance and art school avant-garde,
of tailored workshop traditions and unorthodox experimentation.
Originality is the life & story of their designs,
Mjolk asserts their creativity in the details, the construction
and being different in an effortless manner. |
