DUNLOP
GREEN FLASH
- The Original British Tennis Shoe
John Boyd Dunlop is remembered for inventing the first
commercially viable pneumatic tyre. He patented the idea
of how to bond canvas to rubber and this discovery became
instrumental in developing the earliest sports shoe in
the 1830s.
Worn by Fred Perry in his victories at Wimbledon in 1934,
1935& 1936; Robbie Williams, TRAVIS and even Sir Alec
Guiness.
In the world of fashion and sport, few styles bear the
test of time, even fewer survive to become design icons.
Green Flash lays claim to both.
It can trace its pedigree back to the 1870’s and
the invention of the very first plimsoll (canvas shoe
with rubber sole). |
